James Garrett Jr. artistically creates technologically advanced, resilient design that articulate an evolving comprehension of the 21st century city. As a visual artist, writer, and architect, he creatively expresses the urban condition through inspired design. His work employs diverse media to explore complex theoretical topics from a unique, ethno-experiential perspective.
James is a Registered Architect in New York, New Jersey and Minnesota.

Nathan is an innovator. He leverages his exceptional thinking to devise design solutions that are empathetic to community needs, creatively applied to the built form, and technically executed with precision. An elite Level architect, Nathan’s professional knowledge offers fresh perspective with unparalleled thoughtfulness. Nathan is a registered Architect in the state of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Currently, Nathan teaches Architectural Technology at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is a recipient of the AIA MN 2009 Young Architect Award, and in 2018, Nathan was the first African-American to serve as AIA Minnesota President.

Born and raised in Saint Paul, Erick brings his love of community revitalization to each purposeful project he manages. With nearly 20 years of experience, Erick strives to make a difference in his Minnesota hometown.

Paola is a registered Architect in the Dominican Republic with a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and Municipal Management, both titles obtained from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Santiago. In addition to the experience gained working in service of major business entities across the Dominican Republic (ESGRUMA, TECVASA International, Batista y Asociados S.A., et al), she has also gained a breadth of knowledge in Urban Development working as a consultant on numerous projects with several municipalities in the northern region of the country. Paola is also a professor of Urban Planning in the school of Architecture at PUCMM. Currently, she is the secretary of MSP AoA NOMA.

Lyssa is a native of Minneapolis, MN and has worked on a variety of projects throughout the Twin Cities ranging from multi-use planning projects to educational facilities. She is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA with a Master’s degree in Architecture and a Certificate of Preservation Studies. Lyssa has worked in and with firms both small and large in her 14+ years of professional experience; she is a creative problem solver, leader, effective communicator and collaborator. Lyssa is the Vice-President of MSP AoA NOMA, a volunteer with the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota, and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Syracuse University where he focused on sustainable design. In addition to the experience gained working 4RM+ULA, he has also gained a breadth of knowledge in Construction Management and Project Visualization through working as a consultant in New York City. After interning with 4RM+ULA in 2012. Michael rejoined the team full time in 2017 and has a been a project designer and visualization specialist for a number of projects including the Rochester Broadway Reconstruction BRT,
Orange Line BRT, Great River Landing, and Springboard for the Arts.
